Peapod and Me started when I was pregnant with my daughter, Alexi.  I was only 10 weeks into my pregnancy adventure when I started having complications.  Having to sit around and ‘take it easy’ isn’t really in my genetic make-up, so I started going crazy.  All I could do was sit & wonder {i.e. freak out} if my baby was okay.  My mom could see that I was losing my mind so she taught me to knit.  She thought it would keep my mind & fingers busy … & that it did!  By the end of my pregnancy I had hats, scarves, earwarmers, and mittens.  After my beautiful (& healthy!) baby girl was born my husband encouraged me to open an Etsy shop.  I think he was worried we would lose the baby under a pile of hats.

So, the Etsy adventure began.  Naming my shop was pretty easy.  My mom always called my little, unborn, bundle of joy ‘peapod’ & I felt like when I was knitting for all those months it was just my little peapod & me.  And there it was.

I like things to be simple, fun, and fabulous. This is what I try to keep in mind when I’m creating. It is highly unlikely you will ever see a giant knit blanket in the Peapod & Me Etsy store – I really can’t concentrate on something for that long! I like working with different textures & lots of color. I also like to think about the person I’m creating the piece for. Are they catching a cab in the city, are they snuggling up to keep warm in the snowy mountains, are they throwing on a slouch hat because their 10 month old tossed sweet potatoes in their hair? Thinking about things like this really helps me connect with my creations & love my customers even more. I love when people post pictures of themselves rocking their P&M purchases on the Peapod & Me Facbook page. It’s inspirational for me to see how they wear each item.

P&M tries to support & bring light to many of our local organizations.  Here are some organizations that we support on a regular basis.

Clare House of Lancaster County, PA

P&M supports Clare House through the Break the Cycle section of our Etsy shop.  50% of profits earned from these items are donated directly to Clare House.  Click their logo to learn more about this awesome organization!

HopeLine® from Verizon Wireless

This is a great place to unload your old phones!  My husband & I have donated several of our old phones here and hope you will too!
