Peapod and Me

Happy New Year!  I hope your New Years Eve was everything you were hoping it would be.  Our evening consisted of putting our daughter to bed at her normal bedtime, watching a Tony Bennett special on PBS, and falling asleep before midnight (well, I did anyway).  I know what you’re thinking – wow, how do their neighbors put up with them?!  My husband woke me up a few minutes before midnight and asked if I wanted to do something other than watch the ball drop over NYC.  I’m glad I agreed because his idea was fabulous.  We prayed right through the final minutes of 2012 into the first minutes of 2013.  Just us, in stillness with Jesus, while fireworks and car horns were going on outside our window.  It was awesome.  2012 was a rough year for our little family, but through everything our relationship remained solid – if anything God has strengthened it.  We feel that although we had mountains to climb during 2012 we also had so much to be thankful for & were blessed with so much.  We wanted to acknowledge everything that happened last year & pray for all of the unknown of this year.  My husband amazes me.  Best New Years Eve ever.
